Tom Carroll and coming back from an injury goes together like Dane Reynolds and the Dumpster Diver. Back on a shortboard after having a pair of ligaments reattached last year, the two-world champ just took the new Dumpster Diver 2 for a spin.

"I surfed my ass off ... I had to get it put back on," Carroll jokes with Luca Elder in the new YouTube drop by Onboard Industries, who has the license in Australia to build Channel Islands Surfboards.

From the moment he first fondles the rails, to sussing the volume, nose and tail curves, it's pretty clear Carroll's down with the DD2.

"It's got all the ingredients for a little, chiccccahhhhhh! You know, when you first feel a good board, there's nothing quite like it," marvels Carroll.

Getting after in some relatively average conditions at their Sydney local, Carroll and Elder put the board through its paces in gutless, little wedges. While lamenting they didn't have more wide, open faces to play around with, the surf is enough for the two to see what the Dumpster Diver 2's capable of. And at 62 years old, Carroll is still happy to put a high-performance shortboard on rail.

"Dane, he just lays into it. Everything is intentional. When you see him, he's deep off the bottom and really high off the top. So, Dane's looking for that stuff and he doesn't want to be thinking about the board at all," describes Carroll.

And there it is, free your mind and get on a Dumpster Diver 2. From Dane Reynolds to Tom Carroll, everybody's doing it.
